1. President Buhari visits Taraba state

President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday, visited Taraba State for an on the spot assessment of situation in the state.

This follows the fresh break out of crisis in the Mambilla over the weekend.

2. Obasanjo expresses regrets on 81st birthday

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo today on the occasion of his 81st birthday regretted that his parents did not live long to see him excel in life.

He said this at a gathering of eminent Nigerians and foreigners who came to felicitate him at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.

3. Buhari’s Taraba visit, an after thought – Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has described President Muhammadu Buhari’s plan to visit Taraba and planned visit to Benue, Zamfara, Yobe and Rivers states as an afterthought.

 

He said the President is more interested in his reelection in 2019 and wishes to visit those state to canvass for votes and not to sympathize with people on their loses.

4. EFCC Re-arraigns Alao-Akala, 2 Others Over alleged N11.5bn fraud

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have re-arraigned a former governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Alao-Akala, and two others in an Oyo State High Court sitting in Ibadan over alleged N11.5bn fraud.

The other defendants are a former Oyo State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Senator Hosea Agboola; and an Ibadan-based businessman, Femi Babalola.

5. Group demands release of journalist in DSS custody

The ourmumudondo movement has disclosed plans to occupy the DSS headquarters in Abuja over the continued detention of  Mr. Anthony Ezimakor, the Abuja bureau chief of the Daily Independent Newspaper.

The group says its protest will be peaceful.

6. Osinbajo insists on private wedding for daughter

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has reportedly insisted on a strictly private wedding for his daughter.

Osinbajo’s daughter, Damilola is set to marry Oluseun Bakare, son of popular business woman, Bola Shagaya on March 17.

7. Presidency describes killings as pure undiluted evil

The presidency has in the aftermath of the recent clashes and killings in several parts of the country including the one in the Mambilla Plateau in Taraba state, decried the needless spate of killings happening in various parts of the country, saying the killings have gone unabated for too long.

It submitted that perpetrators of the acts must be brought to book which will serve as deterrent to others who may be nursing such ideas.

8. President Buhari explains delay in visiting violent-hit states

President Muhammadu Buhari has during his visit to Jalingo in Taraba state, said that he does not rush to visit violent-hit states, because he prefers to monitor developments first.

Buhari stated that he has ways of gathering intelligence and assessing situation without physically visiting affected places.

9. Weah tips Super Eagles for World cup glory

Liberia’s president and Former world footballer of the year, George Weah, has tipped the Super Eagles of Nigeria to go far in the Russia 2018 world cup tournamnet.

He said this when he visited President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Rock Villa in Abuja.

10. Man-U completes stunning come back win over Crystal Palace

Manchester United kept pace on the top of the league table winning 3-2 at Selhurst park after going down 2-0.

A 91st miniute stunner from Matic completed the Turn around for United.
