Vincent Sinclair, son of iconic Hollywood actor, Vin Diesel, is set to follow in his father’s footsteps with a role in Fast and Furious 9. The 10-year-old plays a younger version of his father’s character Dominic Toretto in the new film, which will be released on June 2, after multiple delays, according to TMZ.

The website claims Vincent filmed his scenes in late 2019 when he was nine years old and got paid $1,005 per day. The franchise already saw a flashback to a younger Dominic in Furious 7, which saw the character played by actor Alex McGee.

MailOnline has contacted representatives for comment.

This comes as it was revealed Fast And Furious 9’s theatrical release has been delayed again because of the Covid-19 crisis. The film was originally set to be released in May last year but had been pushed back by eleven months to April 2, 2021, before being delayed again to May 28, and the release date has once again been altered.

After Dom admits that he misses the old life ‘every day’, the action and fast editing go into overdrive and take viewers on a wild trip full of high-speed chases and spectacular, fiery crashes. Most of the action showcases Dom and Letty, behind-the-wheel, tearing it up on the streets, as they face off with Dominic’s younger brother Jakob, a deadly assassin.

It was revealed in October last year that Universal Pictures is planning two final rides for its lucrative Fast & Furious franchise, with director Lin coming back to the helm, according to Deadline. When all is said and done, Lin will have directed seven of the 11 Fast & Furious movies, including the upcoming F9.

Diesel will return to star as Dominic Toretto, while also producing through his One Race Films production company.

Also expected to return are Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson (Roman Pearce), Ludacris, Jordana Brewster (Mia Toretto), Nathalie Emmanuel (Megan Ramsey) and Sung Kang (Han). Charlize Theron is rumoured to portray her character Cipher once again, who debuted in 2017’s The Fate of the Furious and returns in F9.

It’s also possible that F9 new cast members John Cena, Helen Mirren, Cardi B and Reggaeton singer Ozuna could come back for the final two installments.

Perhaps the biggest question mark, though, is if Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson will return to the franchise for the last two films. Johnson debuted in the franchise in Fast Five, returning to star in Fast & Furious 6 and Furious 7, though he feuded quite harshly with Vin Diesel during production.

He ultimately left the flagship franchise to star alongside Jason Statham in the spin-off Fast & Furious: Hobbs and Shaw.

There is also the possibility of bringing back several other stars who appeared in earlier films such as Gal Gadot, who made her feature film debut in 2009 as Gisele, and returned in 2011’s Fast Five, 2013’s Fast & Furious 6 and 2015’s Furious 7.

No release dates for the 10th and 11th films in the franchise have been given quite yet.
